In 2021, the Minister of Education and Culture, upon receiving a recommendation from the Museum Council, has allocated a total of 220,630,000 krónur from the Museum Fund.

From the 2021 main allocation of the collection fund In April, a total of 168,540,000 krónur were awarded.

117 one-year grants totaling 137,940,000 krónur were awarded to 50 grantees.

10 were awarded Excellence Scholarships  to accredited museums, which are distributed as follows: for the year 2021, kr. 30,600,000; for the year 2022, kr. 36,100,000; and for the year 2023, kr. 31,700,000. The total amount for the entire grant period is 98,400,000 kr. The allocations for 2022 and 2023 are subject to the funding of the museum fund.

From the 2021 supplemental appropriation of the collections fund In December 2021, a total of 58 grants were awarded, amounting to 17,390,000 krónur.

Excellence Scholarships 2020-2022 There were 12 in total (grant commitments are 13, one grant recipient received an extension for using the grant) and the total grant amount paid for the year 2021 was 34,700,000 kr. Grant awards can be viewed here *.
