Action Plan for Strategic Planning of the Collection
The action plan presents six actions that work towards the goals of the policy on library work.
Action 1 – Museums for All – Introduction to Museum Work
Action 2 – Strengthening infrastructure
Action 3 – Professional work – the foundation for the protection of cultural and natural heritage
Action 4 – Knowledge Preservation and Collaboration of Collections
Action 5 – The educational role of museums
Action 6 – Knowledge Creation on Collections and Scholarly Activities
The action plan is based on Policy on museum work but seven main objectives form the basis of the strategic direction. The actions presented here overlap and support more than one main objective. The action plan outlines the priorities for the next three years. The validity period for this first action plan is 2023-2026, after which it will be reviewed and a new action plan will be presented.
Emphasis is placed on five key factors, and the actions can relate to one or more factors at a time.
The key elements of the action plan are as follows:
• Operational security
• Strengthening knowledge within museums
• Professional care of the collection
• Community engagement
• Sustainability and preservation for the future
