Representing the parent institutions at the meeting were: for the National Gallery of Iceland, Guðrún Jóna Hilmarsdóttir; for the National Museum of Iceland, Harpa Þórsdóttir. The National Museum of Natural History of Iceland did not send a representative.

1. Matter for presentation

  1. An overview of the council's activities since the last meeting. Among other things, the report covered the submission of statistical data on collections to Statistics Iceland and the transfer to Umbra. 
  2. At the 222nd meeting, a revised arrangement for the monitoring of registration grants was approved. An updated agreement regarding the monitoring was presented to the meeting.  
  3. The Council of Museums, the Icelandic Section of ICOM, and FÍSOS held a symposium on May 16th. It was held in connection with International Museum Day, which this time had the theme Museums, sustainability and well-being, which was also the theme of the symposium. There were eight lectures at the symposium, and it was well-attended, with about 50 people present and many more following online. 
  4. An introduction to the Icelandic translation of the MOI! project, with the Icelandic version set to be ready for distribution and use this fall.  
  5. The status of a project on response plans for collections was presented.No items were on the agenda this time. 

2. Matters for Decision

  • No items were on the agenda this time. 

3. Other matters

  • Three other matters were discussed:
    It was decided to send the Municipality of Kópavogur and the Gerðarsafn an inquiry regarding the status of the Kópavogur Natural History Museum and the Öndvegis Grant that the museum and the Gerðarsafn received jointly. 
  • It was decided to change the list of attendees in the minutes of the Board of Trustees. Going forward, both the board members and the directors of the main museums who are present will be required to sign the minutes. 
  • Harpa Þórsdóttir presented the upcoming publication of a book by the National Museum., At the eleventh hour.
