
The Minister of Education, Culture and Sports has allocated funds from the 2020 Museum Fund's main allocation.
In the 2020 main allocation of the Museum Fund, the fund received 200 applications from 50 parties, from 45 recognized museums and 5 other parties.
177 applications were received for one-year scholarship for a total amount of 275,469,165 kr. and 23 Excellence applications received a total amount for the year 2020 ISK 80,325,500 and for the entire grant period 2020 – 2022 ISK 237,712,100.
At the meeting of the Museum Council on February 15, the Council's recommendations on grant applications from the main allocation of the Museum Fund 2020 were approved, in accordance with the provisions of Article 7 of the Museum Act No. 141/2011. Proposals were made to the Minister of Education and Culture on the allocation of grants from the fund, but according to Article 7, Article 22 of the Museum Act, the Minister allocates grants from the Museum Fund after receiving proposals from the Museum Council. The Minister has now decided on the allocation of grants from the fund.
The total grant amount for 2020 from the main allocation of the Museum Fund 2020 is 177,243,000 kr.
111 scholarships are awarded. for one year for a total amount of ISK 139,543,000.
There are 13 provided. Excellence Scholarships which is divided as follows: for the year 2020 ISK 37,700,000, for the year 2021 ISK 40,700,000 and for the year 2021 ISK 32,000,000. The total amount for the grant period is ISK 110,400,000.
