The Minister of Education and Culture, after receiving the Museum Council's opinion, allocated a total of ISK 113,850,000 from the museum fund.
From the main allocation of the Museum Fund in 2019, a total of 113,850,000 ISK was awarded, of which 85 project grants totaling 84,250,000 ISK were awarded, in addition to 29,600,000 ISK. being allocated in operating grants to 37 recognized museums.

A total of 142 project applications were received and grants awarded ranged from ISK 300,000 to ISK 2.5 million.
