1. Presentation case

- The council discussed additions to the application process for museum recognition and museum board approval for applications for foundation grants.
- Additional allocation from the 2019 Museum Fund announced, with the allocation announced just after the New Year. 47 continuing education grants were awarded to recognized museums from the 2019 Museum Fund additional allocation for a total amount of ISK 12,186,800.
2. Matters for decision
- Museum Council work plan 2020 approved.
- Museum Board budget for 2020 approved.
3. Other issues
The meeting was held following a review meeting of the Museum Council regarding the Museum Council's strategy, which was held from 1:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Anna Sigríður discussed that the Museum Council's strategy should take social responsibility into account and also that the strategy be in line with the United Nations' global goals. The meeting agreed to this.
The Director General discussed the National Heritage Agency's policy on the preservation of cultural heritage, as the Director General sits on its steering committee.
