Presentation case
1. Summary of activities since the last meeting.
2. Supervisory role of the museum council: a proposal for implementation will be presented at the next meeting, along with the results of a price survey.
3. Granting operating grants from the museum fund – policy: proposal that allocation rules be submitted for presentation and discussion at the next meeting.
4. Provisions on responsible collections in the Museums Act: postponed until the next meeting.
5. Arrangements for grants from the museum fund: proposal that a detailed plan be presented at the next meeting based on the results of a price survey.
6. Museum Council website: we will continue to develop an idea for a new website, with the aim of launching it in 2015.
Matter for decision
1. Approved to refuse approval of the Fischer Center's charter due to the provisions of Article 8.
2. Proposal to the Minister of Education and Culture for the recognition of museums approved.
a. Akureyri Industrial Museum: Approved with the proviso that the chairman of the board is not also the director of the museum.
b. Dalarna Regional Museum: Approved without reservation.
c. The Húsavík Whale Museum: Recognition subject to the museum changing the arrangement of its annual accounts so that the collection is not listed among the museum's assets that can be pledged, as it is not permitted to dispose of collection without consultation with the main museum in accordance with Article 16 of the Museums Act No. 141/2011.
d. Garðskagi Regional Museum: Accepted without reservation
3. Offer from a research center in museology, agreed to request a deadline to provide a final response. Potential partners will be discussed before the next meeting.
4. A proposal for an allocation from the museum fund to the Hunting Museum has been submitted and approved and will be sent to the Ministry of Education and Culture for a final decision. According to the announcement, the proposal was made in accordance with the museum fund allocation rules from 18.09.2013 and the Museums Act No. 141/2011.
