After receiving the Museum Council's opinion, the Minister of Culture has now allocated ISK 17,923,000 from the additional allocation of the Museum Fund 2022.
From the 2022 additional allocation, 58 grants were awarded to 38 recognized museums, 35 grants are for continuing education projects and course delivery, and 23 grants are for other projects.
The total allocation for 2022 from the museum fund is therefore ISK 224,413,000, which is also the fund's second-highest allocation since its inception, and there are a total of 179 grants.
From the main allocation of the Museum Fund 2022 in March, 135,390,000 ISK were awarded, of which 35,000,000 ISK were awarded in Excellence Grants. Excellence Grants 2021-2023 for the year 2022 were 36,100,000 ISK.
