FÍSOS mobile school 2022 took place last September in the beautiful autumn colors of Hallormstaðarskógur. The conference is an annual professional conference for museum professionals in Iceland and this year its title was Museums at a turning point. This time, the program was extensive, with very interesting speakers, exciting seminars, and tours throughout the region, where diverse aspects of museum work were discussed. The Museum Council offered drinks at the Museum of Eastern Iceland while school visitors viewed the exhibitions.
The Museum Council's grant award ceremony took place on Friday September 23rd, where Minister of Culture and Trade Lilja Dögg Alfreðsdóttir presented awards to beneficiary from the main allocation 2022.
94 one-year grants were awarded for a total amount of ISK 118,590,000 to 45 beneficiaries. The total allocation of the main allocation in 2022 was ISK 135,390,000. and therefore a total of ISK 206,490,000 has been allocated from the museum fund in 2022 with the Excellence Allocations from 20-22 and 21-23.
