Epidemic prevention measures reinstated – museums may receive 75% of the maximum number

However, no more than 200 people in each space

At midnight on Saturday, July 24 (Sunday night), stricter quarantine measures will come into effect and will be in effect until August 27 (extended by two weeks).

Museums and other public places may accommodate 75% of the maximum permitted number and a maximum of 200 people per space. The one-meter social distancing rule must be observed and face masks are mandatory where the rule cannot be enforced.

  • General crowd restrictions will be 200 people. Children born in 2016 and later are exempt.
  • The general distance rule will be 1 meter. Children born in 2016 and later will be exempt.
  • Mask requirement is where the 1 meter rule cannot be applied and if ventilation is not adequate. Children born in 2006 and later are exempt. This means that collections that can ensure a one-meter distance rule between guests do not have to require guests to wear masks.
  • Collections will be permitted to receive 75% of the maximum permitted number of guests, with a maximum of 200 people in each space.
  • The public and employees should be reminded of individual infection prevention measures, such as verbally, through markings or signs.
  • Good ventilation should be ensured where there is a lot of human contact and air out regularly.

Note: Currently, there is no generally published maximum number of museum visitors, so each museum must determine this for itself and it is always better to be more cautious than the other. But for example, if we consider the previous calculation rules and that the one-meter proximity rule applies, then we can assume that the maximum number of people allowed is 10 per 10 square meters – and therefore it could be estimated that 7.5 people per 10 square meters could fall under 75% of the maximum number. However, the 200-person limit must always be considered.
