 
			      In the second additional allocation of the Museum Fund in 2020, recognized museums can apply for grants for lifelong learning or for digital promotion. The fund will be allocated before the end of 2020 and the grant should be used no later than December 2021. The application deadline is 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 10, 2020. Up to 15 million ISK in total will be awarded.
Grants for digital promotion. The purpose of these grants is to enhance the digital presentation of the museums, whether on social media or on their own websites. The emphasis is on the grant strengthening the museum as a place of contact for visitors or promoting the museum's activities. Grants can be applied for, for example, to create content for publication, to cover the cost of publication, to obtain external services to enhance promotion on social media or websites or to promote the museum's activities, to name a few. The maximum grant is ISK 300,000.
Grants for lifelong learning. The purpose of these grants is to strengthen the professional work of the museums and promote the element of lifelong learning. Two types of grants are available, Continuing education for museum employees on the one hand and Courses/speakers on the other hand. The maximum grant is 300,000 ISK. but 600,000 ISK. for collaborative projects between museums due to Courses/speakers.

b) Continuing education for museum employees
- Recognized museums can submit at any time one application about grants in a category b) Continuing education for museum employees and received at most one grant.
- A lifelong learning grant for museum employees can be used, for example, to pursue formal education in Iceland or abroad (for example, through organized courses or visits) or as a travel and subsistence grant for museum staff exchanges.
- Each grant is a maximum of 300,000 ISK.
c) Courses/speakers – Museums apply alone
- Recognized museums can submit at any time one application about support in a class c) Courses/speakers and received at most one grant.
- Each museum can receive a maximum of one grant in this category.
- This category of grant is intended as a grant for courses or lectures within Iceland that could benefit the museum as a whole as well as a larger group of museum members.
- Each grant is a maximum of 300,000 ISK.
d) Courses/speakers – Collaborative projects between recognized museums
- Recognized museums can apply in collaboration for a grant in a category d) Courses/speakers – collaborative projectsIf the collaboration is between at least two recognized museums, additional parties may also participate in these grant applications.
- This category of grant is intended as a grant for courses or lectures within Iceland that could benefit a larger group of collectors.
- Each museum can be a party to more than one application.
- If museums apply in collaboration, each grant can be a maximum of 600,000 ISK.
