MOI! Museums of Impact is a European collaborative project funded by the Creative Europe programme. The project aims to develop a self-assessment model for European museums. The model helps museums to critically and creatively assess their operations and develop their capacity to meet the demands of an evolving, increasingly diverse, digital and ageing society.
The model will be developed through a series of cooperation workshops. Throughout the process, the model will be tested on a number of pilot libraries to ensure that the knowledge and needs of stakeholders are incorporated into the model. Regular stakeholder discussion meetings will be held where developers and libraries will meet for open dialogue. The final version of the model will be published in seven languages, along with guidelines and promotional materials, including Icelandic. The model will be accessible to all.
The following 11 organizations are working together to develop the model:
- Finnish Heritage Agency, Finland
- BAM! Cultural Strategies, Italy
- Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports, Greece
- German Museum Association/NEMO Network of Museum Organisations, Germany
- Museum of Cycladic Art, Greece
- Estonian National Museum/Eesti Rahva Muuseum, Estonia
- Finnish Museums Association, Finland
- European Museum Academy, Netherlands
- Museum Council, Iceland
- Stiftung Preussischer Kulturbesitz SPK, Germany
- MUSIS Steirischer Museumsverband, Austria
The project began in December 2019 and will run until March 2022.
MOI! is funded by the Creative Europe Programme (COOP2). Its total budget is 735,000 euros. Finnish Heritage Agency (Museum Agency) is the project coordinator.
