The Museum Council is advertising applications for museum accreditation.

The application deadline is November 15, 2013.

The Museum Council advertises for applications for recognition of museums according to the Museums Act No. 141/2011. The Museum Council makes a proposal for recognition of a museum to the Minister of Education and Culture if the applicant meets the Museum Council's requirements for recognition according to the Museums Act and regulations.   No. 900/2013

The application deadline for consideration in 2013 is November 15th.

You can find templates here for an application for museum recognition. The application for recognition must be completed to the best of your knowledge. The last day to submit an application in 2013 is November 15. In order to apply for an operating grant from the Museum Fund in 2014, a museum must be a recognized museum according to Article 10 of the Museums Act No. 141/2011.

The template can be downloaded and filled in. It must then be sent to the Museum Board along with other documents by November 15, 2013 if the applicant wishes the application to be considered in 2013.
The following documents must accompany the application:

 

  • Copy of the annual accounts for 2012.
  • A copy of the current policy.
  • Copy of collection policy.
  • Copies of emergency plans.
  • A copy of the last fire safety inspection.
  • Copy of operating license from the health inspectorate.
  • Copy of the latest security systems audit.
Applicants are reminded to save the template before filling it out so that no information is lost.
