13:05 – Keynote lecture: Museums and well-being. Sigurjón Baldur Hafsteinsson, professor of museology at the University of Iceland, and Halldóra Arnardóttir, art historian.
"This opening talk will discuss the relationship between museums and the concept of well-being. Particular attention will be paid to the research project Inclusive Memory, which, among other things, examines how museums need to consider the well-being of their visitors.".

Every year there is International Museum Day celebrated on May 18th in collaboration FÍSOS and Icelandic Section of ICOM with strong support from museum council and museums in the country. The aim of the day is to promote and promote museum work in Iceland, and museums are encouraged to hosting events and even free admission on the occasion.
