Þóra Björk Ólafsdóttir, the director of the Museums Council, took a seat at the turn of the year on the professional council for arts and creative arts at Íslandsstofa.
On page Iceland Study Center says: Special professional councils, appointed by the board of the Icelandic Institute, contribute to the Icelandic Institute becoming a powerful platform for collaboration between the business community and the government. The professional councils are the board of the Icelandic Institute's ministry in formulating policy and priorities. It is important that the professional councils work well as the support of the Icelandic Institute and contribute to the development of new projects and the raising of funds for them. The professional councils shall demonstrate independence in formulating proposals, but the final decision-making is in the hands of the board.
The goal of the Arts and Creative Industries Professional Council is to ensure targeted promotional and marketing efforts aimed at increasing foreign exchange earnings from the arts and creative industries.
