1. Issues for discussion and decision:
1.0. Minutes of the 109th, 110th, 111th, 112th meetings approved and signed.
1.1. Managing Director's Report:
ICOM Resolution on the Icelandic Museum of Natural History and the Icelandic Art Museum. The matter has been discussed. Follow-up on allocation. Decided to postpone the final allocation until the 114th meeting of the Museum Board. Decided to finalize the payment of operating funding to the Hunting Museum for the application for 2011. Website under construction: The design and installation of the new Museum Council website is in progress and will be completed by July 1st. The design will be simple and will be presented at the next meeting. Agreement with Icelanderstofa for söfn.is: Draft agreement presented. Courses organized by the Director of Customs. Description of a course for customs officers on the export of cultural property. Current situation in Höfn in Hornafjörður: The relocation of the Old Shop and the closure of the local museum in Höfn were discussed, and it was decided that the chairman and managing director would go to Hafn and investigate the situation. The Richard Museum in DjúpivogurThe Managing Director reported on the communication with representatives of Djúpavogur County regarding the establishment of the Ríkharðssafn Museum. The work of the museum council until the end of the year. Decided to postpone the announcement of grants until September 1st and remain in contact with the ministry regarding impending changes.
1.2 Travel grants. Decided to advertise travel grants in the same way as in recent years.
2. Papers for discussion and decision.
2.1. Request for temporary export of cultural property from the National Gallery of Iceland and the Icelandic Association of Artists' Associations (ASÍ) Art Museum. The Museum Council does not comment on the temporary export of the artworks.
2.2. Confirmation of the charter of the Regional Museum in Görðar, Akranes. Postponed until the next meeting.
3. Next meeting and other matters.
Other issues: Helgi Torfason is summoned. The Museum Board bid farewell to Helga Torfason, director of the Icelandic Museum of Natural History, and thanked him for his good work over the past years. Margrét Hallgrímsdóttir will take over as acting director of the Icelandic Museum of Natural History until the end of the year, and from next year she will take on the role of director of the National Cultural Center. Margrét explained these changes and reported that the policy on NÍ should be sent from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports to the Museum Council for discussion.
