0. Approval and signing of the minutes of the 164th meeting of the Museum Council

1. Presentation case

1.1 Overview of the Council's activities since the last meeting. The Executive Director reported, among other things, on a meeting she had with the staff of the Slots- og Kulturstyrelsen in Copenhagen.

1.2  Museum Fund in the 2018-2020 budget. In the 2018 budget proposal, the Museum Fund is again placed under its own budget item, whereas in the 2017 budget it was under a combined item. The Museum Fund is allocated 138.9 million in 2018 according to the budget proposal. The bill also states what the fund is expected to receive in the budget for the years 2019 and 2020, and it is estimated to be the same amount as in 2018.

1.3  In the budget proposal for 2018 The Ministry of Education, Culture and Science's policy and objectives in cultural affairs (see pages 302-303), including museum work, can be found here. Cultural funds, including the Museum Fund, shall be used to achieve these objectives, and the Council welcomes this guidance.

1.4  Selection of liability portfoliosThe Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports approved the proposal of the Museum Council's working group on procedures for selecting responsible museums. The Ministry recommends that the Museum Council begin work on preparing this project in collaboration with the three main museums.

1.5 The Director-General reported verbally on the first meeting of the working group on the educational role of museums with a focus on electronic dissemination.

2. Matters for decision

2.1  Proposal regarding applications for recognition by two institutions according to the Museums Act was approved. The Museums Council's proposal will be sent to the Minister of Education and Culture for a final decision.

2.2  Changes to application forms due to the approval of the main allocation, applications will be opened on October 15th.

2.3  Total allocation amount Additional allocation of the Museum Fund 2017 – continuing education grants to recognized museums approved.

2.4  Revised budget of the Museum Board 2017 – the matter was postponed until the next meeting.
