Present: Ólafur Kvaran, chairman, Ragna Árnadóttir, Guðbrandur Benediktsson, Haraldur Þór Egilsson, Sigríður Björk Jónsdóttir, Margrét Hallgrímsdóttir, National Museum Curator, Halldór Björn Runólfsson, director of the National Gallery of Iceland, and Ágústa Kristófersdóttir, vice-president.
1. Summary of activities since the last meeting:
- Changes to the organization of museum affairs following the transfer of projects between ministries were reviewed.
- The Council of Ministers presented the work of the policy group. It was agreed that the policy group would submit a draft to the Museums Council in December. HBR announced that the Museums Policy in the field of Art Museums will be ready in September.
- The ruling of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports' Remuneration Committee regarding payments for serving on museum boards was reviewed.
2. The terms and conditions of the Museum Council for the recognition of museums were reviewed and approved. It was agreed to submit the terms and conditions to the Minister of Education and Culture, who will issue regulations on the implementation of the Museums Act.
3. Other issues:
- Discussed an advertisement for the position of Director of the Museum Board.
