New regulation takes effect February 12th

Maximum number of people in museums now 200 people in each quarantine space, with a maximum of 500 people.

A new regulation on restrictions on gatherings due to the pandemic will come into effect on February 12th.

The following restrictions apply in museums:

  • General crowd restrictions are 200 people. in each compartment. Note that the museum board was granted an exemption from Regulation No. 177/2022 from the Ministry of Health dated February 11 on behalf of museums in the country, so the previous maximum restrictions apply, 500 people with certain conditions.
  • For every 10 m² in excess of 100 m², five customers can be added, up to a maximum of 500 people.
  • A one-meter distance rule is in effect.
  • If the one-meter distance rule cannot be maintained, a face mask should be worn.The mask requirement does not apply to children born in 2006 or later.

The general rules are:

  • General crowd restrictions are 200 people.
  • The distance rule is 1 meter.

Museums also need to:

  • Ensure access to hand sanitizer for the public and employees at entrances and near surfaces that many people touch, such as touch screens and cash registers.
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces that are touched by many people as often as possible.
  • Remind the public and employees about personal protective equipment with labels and signs

New regulation (note that the Museum Council, on behalf of the museums, received an exemption from the Ministry of Health from the regulation).
