There will be some changes to the composition of the Museum Council in the new year. At the beginning of the year, Ragna Árnadóttir, vice-chairwoman of the Council, resigned as a member of the Museum Council. In her place, Anna Sigríður Kristjánsdóttir has been appointed as the second representative of the Minister to the Council and will succeed Ragna as vice-chairwoman of the Council.
Margrét Hallgrímsdóttir, National Monuments Curator who has served on the Museum Council due to her position, is taking an annual leave from her duties as National Monuments Curator. Anna Guðný Ásgeirsdóttir and Anna Lísa Rúnarsdóttir will both be appointed as National Monuments Curator in her place. Anna Lísa will attend the Museum Council meetings.
As Ragna and Margrét are thanked for their good work, new trustees are welcomed to work.
The first meeting of the Council in 2014 is scheduled for mid-February.
