The Museum Council agreed at its 170th meeting to accelerate the process for the main allocation from the museum fund starting with the main allocation in 2019. Recognized museums have called for the allocation process to be accelerated so that the entire grant year can be used for work on projects and for the utilization of operating grants.
It should be noted that this is the second year in a row that the Museum Council has expedited the allocation process for the benefit of museums and grantees.
The following proposal was approved at the meeting:
- The application deadline is the end of October/November at the latest.
- Proposal submitted to the evaluation committee a week later
- First working meeting of the evaluation committee around November 15th
- The evaluation committee will submit grades to the CEO around December 10th.
- Distribution meeting at the beginning of the year
- Proposal submitted to the Minister on January 10th
Timings are tentative and may change, but it is expected that the new working year at the Museum Council will begin with an allocation meeting. A revised application deadline will be announced in due course.
