The publication of the new Heritage Collections Policy (National Museum of Iceland 2017) and its implementation in cooperation with the Collections Council aims to promote the further advancement of museum practice and professionalism in the field of heritage collections.
The museum policy was developed with the participation of accredited museums in Iceland and in consultation with museum staff and representatives of their owners throughout the country. The policy sets out six objectives and ways to achieve success in museum work.
