The Minister of Education and Culture has now allocated funds from the museum fund, following a proposal from the museum council. Letters have been sent to applicants.
The Museum Council's proposal was prepared in accordance with the Council's allocation rules from 18.09.2013, the Museum Act No. 141/2011, and in the spirit of what was stated in the advertisement for grants from the Museum Fund.
In total, the fund received applications from 57 parties.
There were 33 applications for operating grants from recognized museums.
Grants were applied for for 145 projects.
The council considered 114 applications for project grants. 31 applications were rejected because the applicant or project did not meet the conditions in the fund's allocation rules.
A total of 83 projects from 42 parties will receive project funding.
The total allocation from the museum fund this time is ISK 93,150,000.
Of which 33,000,000 ISK in operating grants and 60,150,000 ISK in project grants.
