Additional allocation from the museum fund 2021

In December 2021, the Minister of Culture, after receiving the opinion of the Museum Council, allocated ISK 17,390,000 from the additional allocation of the Museum Fund 2021. From the additional allocation of 2021, 58 grants were allocated to 32 recognized museums, 23 grants are for digital promotion of the museums and 35 grants are for continuing education projects and course delivery. Einar Jónsson Art Museum receives recognition

Lilja Alfreðsdóttir, Minister of Education and Culture, has discussed the Museums Council's proposal from 21 October 2021 on the recognition of museums according to the Museums Act No. 141/2011. The Minister, on the council's proposal, granted recognition to the Einar Jónsson Art Museum. The Einar Jónsson Art Museum is both a well-established and intriguing art museum of a pioneer in Icelandic art. The museum is located in a three-story, fully protected building on Skólavörðuholt surrounded by an extensive sculpture garden. …
