The Minister of Education, Science and Culture, after receiving the opinion of the Museum Council, has allocated 47 continuing education grants to recognized museums from the additional allocation of the Museum Fund 2019 for a total amount of ISK 12,186,800. The Museum Council welcomes the fact that the budget for 2020 states that the budget for the Museum Fund has been increased by over 100 million ISK, to 250.3 million ISK for 2020, 245.5 million ISK in 2021 and 240.6 million ISK in 2022. This increased budget will increase the Museum Fund's ability to support professional museum work in the country.
