Four museums receive recognition

The Minister of Education, Science and Culture has considered the proposal of the Museums Council from 2 October 2014 on the recognition of museums according to the Museums Act No. 141/2011. The Minister granted recognition to 4 museums on the basis of the proposal of the Council. They are the Dalamanna Regional Museum, the Garðskagi Regional Museum, the Hula Museum in Húsavík and the Industrial Museum in Akureyri. Applications for the 2015 Museum Fund

The Museum Council is advertising applications for grants from the Museum Fund in 2015. The role of the Museum Fund is to support the work of museums that fall under the Museums Act No. 141/2011. The Museum Council makes a proposal to the Minister of Education, Culture and Science for allocation from the fund in accordance with the Museums Act and the Council's allocation rules from 18 September 2013.
