International Museum Day 2024

Symposium: Museums for Education and Research

The title of this year's International Museum Day, Museums for Education and Research, addresses the importance of cultural institutions when it comes to offering holistic education and opportunities for knowledge acquisition.

Museums are the educational hubs of society, where they foster curiosity, creativity and critical thinking. This year, we are highlighting the role of museums in supporting research and creating a platform for exploring and sharing ideas. Whether the subject is history or the arts, technology or science, they enhance our understanding and knowledge of the world through education and research. On May 18th, the day will be celebrated with the aim of raising awareness in this regard, as well as promoting sustainable thinking and increasing global equality.

The map will therefore provide a comprehensive overview of museum work and highlight the diverse work being done in museums and cultural institutions around the world on the occasion.
