Information from these reports is published, among other places, in<a href=\"https:\/\/safnarad.is\/en\/um-safnarad\/arsskyrslur\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00a0<em>Annual reports of the Board of Trustees<\/em><\/a>, as well as information collected for Statistics Iceland, which they publish on their website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Data that a museum must submit with the Annual Report for Accredited Museums:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Annual report of the museum<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Museum Annual Report<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Museum Response Plan<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The items that are specifically checked during inspection are the following:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Operation of the museum<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Information about museum visitors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Distribution<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Research<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborative projects<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reception of schoolchildren<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Updated response plans<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Response Plans for Collection Items<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Iceland has ratified the 1954 UNESCO Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict. Parties to the Convention are committed to protecting cultural property in the event of an armed conflict, but also carry out preventive work in peacetime, for example, by registering cultural property and creating risk assessments and response plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Accredited museums are required to have response plans, and the Museum Council has organized courses for the museums where they develop a response plan. If a museum has attended the course, it must submit a response plan or a draft response plan as supporting documents with the Museum Council's Annual Report. Therefore, accredited museums will not need to submit a separate report to Statistics Iceland. The Central Bureau of Statistics collects statistical information about Icelandic society, and published information about museum activities can be found.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hagstofa.is\/talnaefni\/samfelag\/menning\/sofn\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The submission of the Annual Report of Accredited Museums 2025 has been opened and the deadline is October 15th.
