Research Center for Creative Industries (RSG)<\/a> is hosting the conference Cultural Tourism Resources, a conference on cultural tourism and a new tourism strategy until 2030 on May 14 in Hof, Akureyri. The conference is being held in collaboration with the Tourism Research Centre (RMF) and the project received funding from Hvati, a fund of the Ministry of Culture and Trade. The conference will also be attended by a number of parties from the cultural sector and the tourism industry.<\/p>\n

The aim of the conference is to examine the interaction and role of culture in tourism. Furthermore, the conference is intended to examine how to strengthen databases and research activities that can contribute to the development and progress of cultural tourism.<\/p>\n

The conference will provide guests with the opportunity to hear a variety of case studies of successful cultural tourism and academic papers on research in this field. All participants will be able to participate in group work on four themes that will be used to develop RSG's research strategy in the field of cultural tourism. The themes are: Collaboration and cluster thinking, Marketing and promotion issues, Product development and investments, Data bases and research planning.<\/p>\n

The event will be streamed, but the stream will be paused during group work.<\/p>\n

The conference moderator is Sigr\u00ed\u00f0ur \u00d6rvarsd\u00f3ttir, curator of the Akureyri Art Museum.<\/p>\n
