The Council of Museums reminds you that applications are now open for the 2024 main allocation of the museum fund.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\u00a0<\/em>The application deadline is 4:00 PM on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. <\/em><\/a><\/strong>and apply on the museum fund's application website<\/a><\/strong><\/h4>\n

APPLICATION for a one-year grant from the main allocation of the Museum Fund 2025<\/a><\/h4>\n

Recognized museums can apply.\u00a0one-year scholarship<\/a>\u00a0in addition, other museums, main museums, museum guides, centers and exhibitions can apply for allocations from the museum fund in collaboration with recognized museums, where the recognized museum is the responsible party. The fund is also authorized to support other activities to promote professional museum work, including research in the fund's field of work and the dissemination of information about them. Project grants as well as operating grants are part of the one-year grants.<\/p>\n

One main category of grant is applied for in the grant application. There are nine grant categories in total, and when evaluating applications in all categories except one, the rules for project grants set out in the Museums Act No. 141\/2011 and the Museum Fund's allocation rules No. 551\/2016 are followed. APPLICATION for a Grant of Excellence from the Museum Fund's main allocation 2025<\/a><\/h4>\n

Excellence scholarships<\/a>\u00a0is allocated for 2-3 years subject to funding from the fund. Only accredited museums can apply\u00a0Excellence Scholarships<\/em>\u00a0from a museum fund.<\/p>\n

It is possible to apply for up to 15 million ISK, which is distributed over the grant period. Requirements are made for clear and well-prepared applications and for the applicant's contribution. There is also a requirement for confirmation of other sponsors and what their support consists of (e.g. financial contribution, work contribution and which part of the project the support goes to). The museum fund must also be mentioned as a sponsor.<\/p>\n
