On November 2nd, museum council<\/a> on a day trip to the South of Iceland and visited three museums.<\/span><\/p>\n

First was <\/span>\u00c1rnesingar Regional Museum<\/a> visited, museum director L\u00fd\u00f0ur P\u00e1lsson welcomed the group and gave a summary of the museum's history. <\/span>The Museum Board was then given the opportunity to tour the magnificent storage facilities of the \u00c1rnesinga Museum of Local History, accompanied by Linda \u00c1sd\u00edsard\u00f3ttir and Ragnhildur Sigf\u00fasard\u00f3ttir.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fishing Museum<\/a> in Stokkseyri was then visited. The couple P\u00e1ll Reynisson, the museum director, and Ragnhei\u00f0ur Ragnarsd\u00f3ttir spoke about the work of the museum and its premises, and issues of registering museum objects, arranging storage spaces, and caring for museum property were also discussed. <\/span><\/p>\n

At the end of the field trip, we looked into \u00c1rnesingar Art Museum<\/a> There, the museum director Krist\u00edn Scheving welcomed the group. The museum board was given an insight into the storage space and the staff's working conditions, and finally Krist\u00edn led the group through the current exhibition, <\/span>Sum & Disintegration<\/span><\/i>, and spoke about the museum's exciting anniversary year in 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n
