At the Museum Council meeting on March 25, the Council's recommendations on grant applications from the main allocation of the Museum Fund 2021 were approved, in accordance with the provisions of Article 7 of the Museum Act No. 141\/2011. Proposals were made to the Minister of Education and Culture on the allocation of grants from the fund, but according to Article 7, Article 22 of the Museum Act, the Minister allocates grants from the Museum Fund after receiving proposals from the Museum Council. The Minister has now decided on the allocation of grants from the fund.<\/p>\n
The total grant amount from the Museum Fund's main allocation for 2021 is\u00a0168,540,000 kr. 117 scholarships are awarded.\u00a0for one year<\/em>\u00a0for a total amount of ISK 137,940,000.<\/p>\n There are 10\u00a0Excellence Scholarships<\/em>\u00a0which is divided as follows: for the year 2021 ISK 30,600,000, for the year 2022 ISK 36,100,000 and for the year 2023 ISK 31,700,000. The total amount for the entire grant period is ISK 98,400,000.<\/p>\n In the 2021 main allocation of the Museum Fund, the Fund received 179 applications from 51 parties, from 44 recognized museums, 3 parties in collaboration with a recognized museum, and 4 non-profit organizations or individuals. 167 applications were received for one-year grants totaling 281,182,351 kr. and 12 Excellence applications were received totaling 98,400,000 kr. for the entire grant period 2021 \u2013 2023.<\/p>\n
