In accordance with this role, the Museums Council agreed at its meeting on 20 March 2013 to establish a working group to work on the council&#039;s strategy. The main museums, the National Gallery of Iceland and the National Museum, as well as the Department of Museum Studies at the University of Iceland, were approached to nominate representatives to the working group. The Museums Council&#039;s representative in the group is Haraldur \u00de\u00f3r Egilsson, who is also the group&#039;s chairman.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The working group includes:<\/div>\n<div>Anna L\u00edsa R\u00fanarsd\u00f3ttir \u2013 National Museum of Iceland<\/div>\n<div>Rakel P\u00e9tursd\u00f3ttir \u2013 National Gallery of Iceland<\/div>\n<div>Sigurj\u00f3n Baldur Hafsteinsson \u2013 Study program in Museology<\/div>\n<div>Haraldur \u00de\u00f3r Egilsson \u2013 museum board<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The Executive Director of the Museum Council is an employee of the group.<\/div>\n<div>The group held its first meeting in May and is expected to submit proposals to the Museum Council early next year.
