The Museum Council is hosting a symposium on museum research at the National Museum on November 6th.<\/p>\n
Research should be an important part of museum work and one of the prerequisites for museum work to be in step with the times. The Museum Council wants to explore and assess the importance of research in museum work and find ways to strengthen the role of research in museum work.<\/p>\n
Attention will be focused on the role of research in museum work and on the role of museums in promoting understanding of the development and status of culture, art, nature and science through their research and dissemination.<\/p>\n
We will examine the characteristics of museum research and the expectations of the academic community towards museums as research institutions.<\/p>\n
