{"id":1400,"date":"2015-09-30T09:13:30","date_gmt":"2015-09-30T09:13:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/safnarad.is\/?p=1400"},"modified":"2017-09-14T09:17:00","modified_gmt":"2017-09-14T09:17:00","slug":"umsoknir-i-safnasjod-arid-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/safnarad.is\/en\/frettir\/2015\/09\/umsoknir-i-safnasjod-arid-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"Applications for the museum fund in 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><u>Advertisement for applications to the museum fund 2016:<br \/>\n<\/u><\/strong><u><br \/>\n<\/u>The Museum Council is advertising for applications for grants from the museum fund in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>The role of the Museum Fund is to support the work of the museums that fall under its jurisdiction.<a href=\"http:\/\/wayback.vefsafn.is\/wayback\/20160902190304\/http:\/\/www.althingi.is\/lagas\/128b\/2001106.html\">Museums Act No. 141\/2011<\/a>The Museum Council makes a proposal to the Minister of Education and Culture regarding allocations from the fund in accordance with the Museums Act and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/wayback.vefsafn.is\/wayback\/20160902190304\/http:\/\/www.safnarad.is\/safnastarf\/upload\/files\/pdf\/uthlutunarreglur_safnasjods.pdf\">the Council&#039;s allocation rules<\/a>\u00a0from September 18, 2013. The amount and number of grants awarded depend on budget allocations and applications.<\/p>\n<p>In order to apply for an operating grant from the Museum Fund, a museum must be a recognized museum in accordance with the Museums Act No. 141\/2011.<\/p>\n<p>Museums that receive operating grants from the state budget will not receive operating grants from the museum fund in the same year, but can apply for project grants.<\/p>\n<p>When deciding on grants in 2016, project grants will be given increased weight at the expense of operating grants.<\/p>\n<p>The application deadline is November 15, 2015.
