For continuing education, two grant categories are available, <em>Continuing education grant for museum staff<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Courses\/speakers. <\/em>A grant is also available for <em>Digital marketing<br \/>\n<\/em>Applications are solicited in the last quarter of each year, and it is planned that the grant awards will be made in December of the same year. <strong>The grant must be used by the end of December of next year.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>The following grant categories are available:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>a) Digital promotion grant<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Recognized museums can submit at any time\u00a0<strong>one application<\/strong>\u00a0about grants in a category\u00a0<em>a) Digital promotion grant\u00a0<\/em>and received at most one grant.<\/li>\n<li>The purpose of these grants is to strengthen the digital promotion of the museums, whether on social media or on their own websites.<\/li>\n<li>The emphasis is on the grant strengthening the museum as a destination for visitors or promoting the museum&#039;s activities.<\/li>\n<li>You can apply for grants, for example, to create content for publication, to cover publication costs, to obtain external services to promote social media or websites, or to promote the museum&#039;s activities, to name a few.<\/li>\n<li>Each scholarship and application is\u00a0<strong>maximum of 300,000 kr\u00f3nur.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>b) Continuing education for museum employees<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Recognized museums can submit at any time\u00a0<strong>one application<\/strong>\u00a0about grants in a category\u00a0<em>b) Continuing education for museum employees\u00a0<\/em>and received at most one grant.<\/li>\n<li>Continuing education grants for museum employees can be used, for example, to attend courses or conferences in Iceland or abroad.<\/li>\n<li>Each scholarship and application is\u00a0<strong>maximum of 300,000 kr\u00f3nur.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>c) Exchange of funds between museums<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Recognized museums can submit one grant application per category at a time.\u00a0<em>c) Exchange of funds between museums\u00a0<\/em>and received at most one grant.<\/li>\n<li><em>Exchange of funds between museums\u00a0<\/em>is intended for peer education of museum employees and shall be used for travel and subsistence grants.<\/li>\n<li>It should be noted which museum will be visited and what will be learned.<\/li>\n<li>Each scholarship and application is\u00a0<strong>maximum of 300,000 kr\u00f3nur.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>d) Courses\/speakers \u2013 Museums apply individually<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Recognized museums can submit at any time\u00a0<strong>one application\u00a0<\/strong>about support in a class<em>\u00a0d)<\/em>\u00a0<em>Courses\/speakers<\/em>\u00a0and received at most one grant.<\/li>\n<li>Each museum can receive a maximum of one grant in this category.<\/li>\n<li>This category of grant is intended as a grant to the museum to hold courses\/symposiums\/conferences or to host lectures domestically that could benefit the museum as a whole as well as a larger group of museum members.<\/li>\n<li>Each scholarship and application is\u00a0<strong>maximum of 300,000 kr\u00f3nur.<\/strong><strong>\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b\u200b<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>e) Courses\/speakers \u2013 Collaborative projects of recognized museums<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Recognized museums can apply in collaboration for a grant in a category\u00a0<em>e)<\/em>\u00a0<em>Courses\/speakers \u2013 collaborative projects<\/em>If the collaboration is between at least two recognized museums, additional parties may also participate in these grant applications.<\/li>\n<li>This category of grant is intended as a grant to the museum to hold courses\/symposiums\/conferences or to host lectures domestically that could benefit the museum as a whole as well as a larger group of museum members.<\/li>\n<li>Each museum can be a party to more than one application.<\/li>\n<li>If museums apply in collaboration, each grant and application can be\u00a0<strong>maximum of 600,000 kr\u00f3nur.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>NOTE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All grants are applied for through\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/safnarad.eydublod.is\/Forms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Museum Council application website<\/a>, applications in progress and submitted applications can be found at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/innskraning.island.is\/?id=focal2.is&amp;path=%2fusers%3fsub%3dwww\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">My pages<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>A grant is not automatically proposed to all eligible applicants, but the amounts and number of grants will depend on the fund&#039;s available funds and the number and quality of applications.<\/li>\n<li>Applications received after the application deadline will not be considered.<\/li>\n<li>The Museum Council reviews all applications for the Museum Fund and evaluates them professionally in accordance with the Museum Act No. 141\/2011, the Rules on the Allocation of the Museum Fund No. 551\/2016, and the Museum Council's operating procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the supplemental
