Regulations<\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"li3\"><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.reglugerd.is\/reglugerdir\/allar\/nr\/900-2013\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Regulation on the Recognition of Museums 900\/2013<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Laws and regulations concerning museum housing<\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Museum premises shall be designed and built, and all facilities therein, in accordance with planning and building laws, regulations and standards, as well as fire protection and occupational safety laws.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"li5\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.althingi.is\/lagas\/nuna\/2010123.html\">Planning Act No. href=\"https:\/\/www.althingi.is\/lagas\/nuna\/2000075.html\"><span class=\"s10\">Fire Protection Act No. 75\/2000<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li5\"><span class=\"s6\"><a \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Other laws and regulations concerning the operation of museums<br \/>\n(note that the list is not exhaustive)<\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">For museums operating under a charter\/charter that has received confirmation from the Minister of Justice (NOTE: Museums are not required to seek confirmation from the Minister of Justice of their charter\/charter):<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"li5\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.althingi.is\/lagas\/nuna\/1988019.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"s10\">Act on funds and institutions operating under a confirmed charter<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>For museums that are non-profit organizations<\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"li7\"><span class=\"s12\">L<a href=\"https:\/\/www.althingi.is\/lagas\/nuna\/1999033.html\"><span class=\"s13\">Act on Non-Profit Institutions Engaged in Business Operations No. 33\/1999<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li7\"><span class=\"s5\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.althingi.is\/lagas\/nuna\/2003090.html\"><span class=\"s10\">Income Tax Act No. 90\/2003<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li7\"><a
