Present: Vilhj\u00e1lmur Bjarnason, Chair; Gunnhildur \u00c1sta Gu\u00f0mundsd\u00f3ttir, Vice Chair; Helga L\u00e1ra \u00deorsteinsd\u00f3ttir; Inga L\u00e1ra Baldvinsd\u00f3ttir; and Hlynur Hallsson.<\/p>\n

The meeting was attended on behalf of the principal museums: for the National Gallery of Iceland: Ingibj\u00f6rg J\u00f3hannsd\u00f3ttir; for the National Museum of Natural History of Iceland: Ragnhildur Gu\u00f0mundsd\u00f3ttir; for the National Museum of Iceland: Harpa \u00de\u00f3rsd\u00f3ttir.<\/p>\n

Staff of the Board of Trustees: \u00de\u00f3ra Bj\u00f6rk \u00d3lafsd\u00f3ttir, Executive Director, who writes the minutes, and Klara \u00de\u00f3rhallsd\u00f3ttir.<\/p>\n

1. Matter for presentation<\/strong><\/h2>\n

  1. Overview of the council's activities since the last meeting<\/li>\n
  2. Introduction to the creation of a statistical report for 2016-2023. Data for the years 2018-2022 have been received and some findings from them were presented. The possibility of publishing a dataset on the council's website was discussed, and this will be explored.<\/li>\n
  3. A report was given on the status of a project on response plans for recognized museums. Because of this project, Klara will attend the annual meeting of the international Blue Shield in Romania this coming September, where the meeting is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Hague Convention. The Ministry of Culture and Commerce has subsequently requested a report from the National Heritage Council and other Icelandic participants.<\/li>\n
  4. Consultation meeting with the minister \u2013 ideas were presented regarding the format of the meeting, possible dates, and attendees.<\/li>\n
  5. The board's fall trip was discussed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    1. Annual Report of the Museum Council 2023 presented \u2013 to be approved between meetings<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      • The next board of trustees meeting has been scheduled.<\/li>\n
      • The status of supervisory matters was discussed.<\/li>\n
      • Review of the council's website was discussed.<\/li>\n
      • A conference at the Reykjav\u00edk Art Museum this fall, in collaboration with Bifr\u00f6st, was discussed, along with the policies of museums and cultural institutions and the participation of the museum board.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
