Present: Vilhj\u00e1lmur Bjarnason, Chair; Gunnhildur \u00c1sta Gu\u00f0mundsd\u00f3ttir, Vice Chair; Helga L\u00e1ra \u00deorsteinsd\u00f3ttir; Inga L\u00e1ra Baldvinsd\u00f3ttir; and Hlynur Hallsson.<\/p>\n

Representing the main museums, the following attended the meeting: For the National Gallery of Iceland: Ingibj\u00f6rg J\u00f3hannsd\u00f3ttir; for the National Museum of Natural History of Iceland: Ragnhildur Gu\u00f0mundsd\u00f3ttir; for the National Museum of Iceland: Harpa \u00de\u00f3rsd\u00f3ttir.<\/p>\n

Staff of the Board of Trustees: \u00de\u00f3ra Bj\u00f6rk \u00d3lafsd\u00f3ttir, Executive Director, who writes the minutes, and Klara \u00de\u00f3rhallsd\u00f3ttir.<\/p>\n

1. Matter for presentation<\/h1>\n
    \n
  1. Overview of the council's activities since the last meeting.
    \nVisit of the Director General, Director of Cultural Affairs, and the liaison to the Museum Council to the office of the Museum Council on May 10, last.
    \nStaff of the Council of Museums visited Glj\u00fafrasteinn on May 17.
    \nInternational Museum Day was celebrated on May 18, and the Icelandic Museum Awards were presented on that day.<\/li>\n
  2. Klara Thorhallsdottir gave an overview of the status of monitoring accredited collections.<\/li>\n
  3. The look of the Board of Trustees' Knowledge Portal was presented. Work on the content installation will begin this fall.<\/li>\n
  4. The planning for the council's Fall trip, which will this time be in the Westfjords, was discussed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    2. Matters for Decision<\/h1>\n

    1. Commentary on Bill 941 from the Committee and Analysis Division of the Althingi, 1388\/154 government proposal: Strengthening and development of historic sites.       3. Other matters<\/h1>\n

      • A symposium of the National Museum Council, ICOM, and F\u00cdSOS, held on May 14 at Kjarvalssta\u00f0ir, was reported on. Museums for education and research<\/em>.<\/li>\n
      • Harpa \u00de\u00f3rsd\u00f3ttir spoke about the work of a working group on brown signs in which she is a participant.<\/li>\n
      • Vilhj\u00e1lmur Bjarnason reported on a matter concerning Maria Julia BA. As things stand, the affairs of this boat are not under the purview of the council or the fund.<\/li>\n
