Present: Vilhj\u00e1lmur Bjarnason, Chair; Gunnhildur \u00c1sta Gu\u00f0mundsd\u00f3ttir, Vice Chair; Helga L\u00e1ra \u00deorsteinsd\u00f3ttir; Inga L\u00e1ra Baldvinsd\u00f3ttir; and Hlynur Hallsson.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The meeting was attended on behalf of the main collections: For the National Gallery of Iceland: Ingibj\u00f6rg J\u00f3hannsd\u00f3ttir; for the National Museum of Iceland: Harpa \u00de\u00f3rsd\u00f3ttir; for the National Museum of Natural History of Iceland: Hilmar Malmquist.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Overview of the council's activities since the last meeting.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. The allocation reception for the 2024 main allocation and the January meeting of the main libraries and the Council for the National Collections were discussed, and these events will be held at Safnah\u00fasi\u00f0 on January 23 at from 2-4 PM, followed by the Museum Council's Allocation Reception from 4-5 PM, where Minister of Culture Lilja Alfre\u00f0sd\u00f3ttir will present grants from the 2024 main allocation of the Museum Fund.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Supplementary Allocation 2023 \u2013 The Minister of Culture allocated 24,800,000 kr. from the 2023 Supplementary Allocation of the Museum Fund. 82 grants were awarded to 37 accredited museums; 59 grants are for continuing education projects and course offerings, and 23 grants are for digital outreach.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
