Action Plan for Strategic Planning of the Collection<\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The action plan presents six actions that work towards the goals of the policy on library work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Action 1 \u2013 Museums for All \u2013 Introduction to Museum Work <\/strong>
Action 2 \u2013 Strengthening infrastructure
Action 3 \u2013 Professional work \u2013 the foundation for the protection of cultural and natural heritage
Action 4 \u2013 Knowledge Preservation and Collaboration of Collections
Action 5 \u2013 The educational role of museums
Action 6 \u2013 Knowledge Creation on Collections and Scholarly Activities<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The action plan is based on Policy on museum work<\/a> but seven main objectives form the basis of the strategic direction. The actions presented here overlap and support more than one main objective. The action plan outlines the priorities for the next three years. The validity period for this first action plan is 2023-2026, after which it will be reviewed and a new action plan will be presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emphasis is placed on five key factors, and the actions can relate to one or more factors at a time.
The key elements of the action plan are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Operational security
\u2022 Strengthening knowledge within museums
\u2022 Professional care of the collection
\u2022 Community engagement
\u2022 Sustainability and preservation for the future<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Working group on the action plan<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The action plan was developed in extensive consultation with museum professionals, but its preparation began with a workshop at the F\u00cdSOS Training School \u2013 a professional conference for museum professionals \u2013 in October 2021.
In the fall of 2022, a working group was appointed to develop an action plan to implement the strategic plan. The working group consisted of 8 members, representatives from major museums, accredited museums, and the Museum Council:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
