1. Presentation case<\/strong><\/h2>\n

  1. Summary of activities since the last meeting. <\/strong>Among other things, the collaboration between the Statistics Bureau and the Council for the National Collection was mentioned, which has now formally begun. The MOI project is well underway, and the first meeting with stakeholders was held in Berlin in early November.<\/li>\n
  2. (This item was moved as approved item 2.4)<\/li>\n
  3. Strategic direction for the museum's work. <\/strong>The final draft of the museum board's strategic plan was discussed, along with proposals for changes. The proposal will be discussed at the museum board's December meeting.<\/li>\n
  4. Second additional allocation from the museum fund 2020. <\/strong>The application deadline was November 10, and the number of applications and the total amount were presented. An allocation meeting, the 199th Board of Trustees meeting, was held immediately after this board meeting.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    2. Matters for decision\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    1. Processing of an application for museum accreditation. <\/strong>The Museum Council approved a recommendation to the Minister of Education and Culture regarding the accreditation of a museum.<\/li>\n
    2. Proposal to the Ministry of Education and Culture regarding a legislative amendment. <\/strong>(The directors of the main museums were not present for this item). The Museum Council approved sending a proposal for an amendment to the Museums Act to the Ministry of Education and Culture. Paragraph 4 of Article 22 of the Museums Act reads as follows: \u201eOther museums, museum curators, institutions, and exhibitions may receive a grant from the Museum Fund for specific projects in collaboration with accredited museums. The accredited museum shall be the primary applicant and the project's responsible party. Lead museums and other museums run by the state can participate in such projects. The Council on Museums proposes adding a provision to Section 22, Article 4 of the Museums Act, stating that principal museums can be the lead applicants and project managers for larger collaborative projects with accredited museums.<\/li>\n
    3. Request for a deferral of grant utilization. <\/strong>An extension for the use of one grant was approved.<\/li>\n
    4. (moved from item 1.2) Because of the Industrial Museum<\/strong>. In a letter from the Industrial Museum, it was stated, among other things, that \u201edue to operational difficulties, the Industrial Museum is scheduled to close temporarily around the next New Year. The director will be fired, and the museum will be overseen by a board of trustees.\u201c The museum was uncertain about its status as an accredited museum in this regard. The Museum Council agreed to give the Industrial Museum a one-year grace period to explore its future prospects, on the condition that the museum would be overseen by the Akureyri Museum of Cultural Heritage, in addition to the patrons.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
