Approval and signing of the minutes of the 155th meeting of the Museum Council.<\/p>\n
1.1. Summary of activities since the last meeting.<\/p>\n
1.2. Involvement of head museums in reviews of museum accreditation. Discussion postponed to the next meeting due to the absence of the heads of head museums.<\/p>\n
1.3. A symposium on museums and tourism in the Museum House on November 18th was held in collaboration with the Icelandic Museums Association and the Association of Icelandic Rural Associations. The symposium was a great success and the organizers and speakers were pleased with the outcome. Almost 100 people attended the symposium and the organizers are very keen to continue the good collaboration. The symposium was streamed and a recording of the broadcast can be found on the Museum Council's website.<\/p>\n
1.4. Status of applications for the museum fund presented to the trustees. A new project application form had to be issued due to a programming error and the application deadline was extended to December 7th as a result.<\/p>\n
2.1. The offer of the curators \u00de\u00f3rd\u00eds Baldursd\u00f3ttir, Krist\u00edn G\u00edslad\u00f3ttir, Ingibj\u00f6rg \u00c1skelsd\u00f3ttir and Karen Sigurkarlsd\u00f3ttir for reporting on monitoring of recognized collections was approved.<\/p>\n

The Museum Council agreed to send a letter to the Icelandic Cultural Institute with a proposal that the Museum Council's executive director take a seat on the Icelandic Cultural Institute's professional council for arts and creative arts.<\/p>\n

Chairman \u00d3lafur Kvaran, deputy chairman Sigr\u00ed\u00f0ur Melr\u00f3s \u00d3lafsd\u00f3ttir and deputy chairman Anna Sigr\u00ed\u00f0ur Kristj\u00e1nsd\u00f3ttir remained by telephone, along with Managing Director \u00de\u00f3ra Bj\u00f6rk \u00d3lafsd\u00f3ttir.<\/p>\n
2.2. item of the meeting was discussed here: Proposal for the allocation of continuing education grants from the Museum Fund in 2016 to recognized museums approved and will be sent to the Minister of Education and Culture for decision. In preparing the proposal, the Museum Fund's allocation rules from 25.09.2015 and the Museums Act No. 141\/2011 were followed, according to the announcement.<\/p>\n
